NO BABIES YET FROM OPAL OR SAPPHIRE.

Quick update for everyone that is watching and waiting.  OPAL is definitely nesting, and spending hours grooming herself.  I feel that today she could easily be in Stage One of Labour.  That can take a day, so "Have Patience".  They will arrive when they want, not when I request.  Will update immediately when there is news.

SAPPHIRE is not due until Saturday, but stranger things have happened.  Perhaps she will have her closer to the date that Opal chooses.  Sometimes they sync up like that.  It is fine as long as the one queen does not come too early.  Rather the other queen waits for friend.

TOPAZ HELPS WITH PANZY'S DELIVERY.

NOW THIS TOOK SOME PLANNING!
6 Kittens from Topaz needed to be kept out of the way.
Topaz had no interest in her babies right at this time.  She was
too concentrated on helping Panzy deliver her babies.
A small roll of Paper Towels wedged between mommy & kids
worked perfectly.  Kittens sensed mommy nearby, but were held back.
Notice the newborn little face peering up between the two queens.
Panzy rests while Kitten # 4 waits to be freed from her
yet to be presented placenta.  Topaz literally hugs Panzy
offering encouragement to finish.  It took an hour for
the fifth and final kitten to be born.  During this time
Topaz's 6 kittens stayed put, out of the way.
What a kittening marathon.

ON BABY WATCH

Both Panzy and Topaz are in my bed, making nests for their litters.  Not sure where they think I am supposed to sleep.  I have 2 basinettes set up for them, one on each side of my bed, but they both feel more comfortable IN my bed.  Will post their news just as soon as it happens.

Sapphire and Opal are waiting until next week to bring their wee ones into the world.

I will be in my glory, playing nursemaid to 4 litters of kittens.  Keep me busy right through into late Spring.
